Terms of service
1. Eligibility Requirements
To rent a vehicle, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old (25+ for select vehicles)
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Provide a valid debit or credit card
- Provide proof of insurance if required
C&A Rental Cars reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who does not meet these requirements.
2. Reservations & Payments
- Full payment is due at the time of booking or vehicle pickup.
- A refundable security deposit is required for all rentals.
- Security deposits may be used to cover damages, excessive cleaning, fuel replacement, tolls, tickets, late fees, or other violations.
- Deposits are typically refunded within 3–10 business days after vehicle inspection.
3. Rental Period & Late Returns
- The rental period begins and ends at the times listed in your agreement.
- Late returns will incur additional daily rental charges.
- Vehicles not returned within 24 hours without communication may be reported as stolen.
4. Authorized Drivers
Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle.
Allowing unauthorized drivers to use the vehicle is a violation of this agreement and may void coverage.
5. Use of Vehicle
You agree NOT to use the vehicle for:
- Illegal activity
- Racing or reckless driving
- Ride-share or delivery services (unless approved in writing)
- Towing (unless authorized)
- Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Transporting illegal substances
Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund.
6. Mileage Limits
Daily rentals include a mileage allowance as stated in your booking.
Additional miles will be charged at the rate disclosed at the time of rental.
7. Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as received.
Failure to do so will result in refueling charges plus a service fee.
8. Vehicle Condition & Cleaning
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received.
Additional charges may apply for:
- Smoking or vaping inside the vehicle (minimum $250 fee)
- Excessive dirt, stains, pet hair, or odors
- Trash left inside the vehicle
- Interior or exterior damage
9. Accidents & Damage Responsibility
In the event of an accident:
- You must notify C&A Rental Cars immediately.
- A police report is required.
- You are responsible for all damages not covered by insurance.
The renter is financially responsible for:
- Collision damage
- Theft
- Loss of use during repairs
- Diminished value
- Insurance deductibles
10. Mechanical Issues
If a warning light appears or mechanical issue arises:
- Contact us immediately.
- Do not authorize repairs without written approval.
- Failure to report issues promptly may result in additional liability.
11. Tolls, Tickets & Violations
The renter is responsible for:
- Traffic violations
- Parking tickets
- Toll charges
- Impound fees
An administrative processing fee may apply.
12. GPS & Vehicle Monitoring
All vehicles may be equipped with GPS tracking for security and asset protection purposes. By renting from C&A Rental Cars, you consent to this monitoring.
13. Early Returns
No refunds will be issued for early returns unless approved in writing.
14. Repossession
C&A Rental Cars reserves the right to repossess the vehicle at the renter’s expense if:
- Payment fails
- Terms are violated
- False information was provided
- The vehicle is abandoned
15. Limitation of Liability
C&A Rental Cars is not responsible for:
- Personal belongings left in the vehicle
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Delays caused by mechanical issues beyond our control
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
17. Agreement
By booking, paying for, or taking possession of a vehicle from C&A Rental Cars, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
